¡Apostasía! An Activist Lecture* with Víctor Hugo Robles (El Che de los Gays)

Víctor Hugo Robles is a journalist, homosexual activist and apostate known as "El Che de los Gays." As a member of Chile's Movement for Homosexual Liberation (MOVILH) in the 1990s, Robles hosted "Triángulo Abierto," Chile's first LGBT radio program. Since 1996, he has been carrying ou#mce_temp_url#t public actions that bring attention to the demands of the LGBT movement through street performance and media intervention. His work is featured in the documentary El Che de los Gays, which won the Audience Prize at the Bilbao International Gay/Lesbian/Trans Film Festival in 2005. In 2008, he published Bandera Hueca: Historía del Movimiento Homosexual de Chile, and in 2010, he began a campaign for "apostasy" by publicly renouncing his Catholic baptism and becoming the first judicially recognized apostate in Chilean history.
